Lavender is a cure all, and in fashion the boho look is "it"... E! Has had it w/ Tara Reid! My sources at E! Entertainment are confirming their intention to produce a second and third season of "Taradise," a remake of their popular travel show "Wild On..." (remember it was originally hosted by Jules Asner and then Brooke Burke?) has been halted due to poor ratings and a difficult star (you can't charter your own airplane on E!'s dime because you're pouty your flight got canceled -- not a bright idea!). Okay first off when channel surfing, have you ever peaked at Tara Reid hosting this train wreck??? Second off, what in heaven were E! executives thinking??? This once fun to watch travel show offering viewers the most exotic, unique places to travel and what to do once you get their, has been trashed by Tara (no pun intended) who, and this is just my opinion, is an alcoholic! Girlfriend don't walk to AA, RUN! Not to get on my high horse, but (to get on my high horse) the footage of her partying and falling down drunk (every episode) is sending the wrong message to the teens and twenty-somethings who comprise the network's viewing base. SO TARA TAKE YOUR HOOCHIE MAMA WAYS BACK TO NEW JERSEY AND CHILL! PS: Outside of "American Pie" and "Josie and the Pussycats," who is this chick anyway? Okay enough said, I'm getting off my "horse!" Lavender, sometimes it's Better Then Zoloft!! Need a pick up mid day??? Take some cotton swabs (Q Tips) and soak them in lavender essential oil. Place the swabs in sandwich baggy and carry it w/ you in your purse, backpack or leave them in your desk at work. Whenever you are feeling low energy or maybe even a little depressed grad one and rub it on your pulse points and inhale the aroma! Lavender is know for it's relaxing properties and is a mild anti-depressant. Boho it's the new Pink!!!! In a Time Magazine bonus section (the September 5, 2005 issue) They are touting the bohemian look is "it" this fall whether you are a teen or an adult. The writer is referring to that 70's look w/ flowy and layered clothing, topped w/ bead necklaces. You can adorn yourself with this seasons must have pieces at stores in every price range from Gap to Urban Outfitters to Barneys. Peasant skirts, chunky knit sweaters and t-shirts w/ rock royalty printed on them highlight the look. The other morning a teen visited my spa for a "Zapper" (teen facial) and was wearing a t-shirt with "The Ramones" embellished on it. She's 14 years old! I mused to myself, " Does she even know who the Ramones are????" Case in point, she probably does not, but she looked great, and in our fashion forward society sometimes that's all that counts.

P.M.S. SO, BUCK UP & LET'S GET PAMPERED! THANK YOU for joining me today as this is my inaugural blog! My very first entry! Needless to say my dear mom will run wild from Marshalls or Target or wherever she is finding a deal on Legs pantyhose, amazed that "I pressed the buttons on the computer correctly" and got myself this far w/out the computer exploding! "Whew" I say! I mean let's face it, being a beauty expert and being computer savvy don't traditionally go hand and hand! For all those bloggers (is that the correct slang? Like "surfers" those who surf the web, right?) who have never heard a peep from me, I am a licensed esthetician (skincare therapist), makeup artist and fashion stylist based in Los Angeles, California. I make my riches by owning a boutique day spa called Pampered People. We employee 2 estheticians and 2 massage therapist in addition to myself and have a lovely time caring for the skin and inadvertently the psyches of women, teens and men (mostly husbands, dads and boyfriends in the "men" category). In my spare time, 6 years ago, I made my first appearance on HGTV as a beauty expert and my affair w/ T.V. viewers began. Since then I have had the pleasure and privilege of appearing regularly on Soap Nets "Soap Talk", E!'s "The Entertainer w/ Wayne Newton" and Lifetimes "Head 2 Toe." I enjoy sharing money saving tips about beauty and fashion w/ all the folks who tune in to watch! I know what I do is not brain surgery, however, it has it's place in the world and I am thrilled to entertain you and take your mind off your bills, screaming kids and your M.I.A. boyfriend! TODAY'S GOOD NEWS: I got an email from my producer on "Soap Talk" checking my availability for an upcoming segment on this Day Time Emmy nominated show! Should this work out, it will mark my 10th appearance on "Soap Talk." Now I am just wondering if they have a commemorative cake or photo opportunity should I shoot 25 guest appearances in time to come? That's my over achiever goal for the day (hey, at least I know my flaws and at least this particular one isn't a bad one to have!) ABC'S"Extreme Makeover" John J. York who play's "Mac Scorpio" on "General Hospital" and I shot our first appearance on this grandmommy of makeover shows in late July. It will air sometime in January! The topic was "Home Spa Tips in a Minute" So it covered easy facial and mask recipes you can whip up in your kitchen with ingredients you have laying around! John and his family are long time clients of mine and John has a love for cooking so it was logical to pair us together and protect me from any culinary disasters (I don't know how to cook or for that matter, ride a bike! Okay there, I said it, now you know! My secrets are out!) On that note in closing, here's a great mask recipe from the segment! By reading this blog, you're in the loop before the rest of America! Thanks for your interest, and remember my favorite saying..."Laugh hard, be happy, and don't get caught w/out lip gloss!" Buh Bye for now! Zucchini Zit Zapper (a face mask recipe by Stacy): This is great for helping calm inflamed, sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin. Blend: 1 Baby Zucchini (3 or 4 inches long) 1/4 Cup of Water (blend two ingredients until they are smooth & pale green) Grind 5 tablespoons of Oatmeal in dry blender or coffee grinder, stir in the oatmeal powder to the zucchini/water combo. And let it thicken for anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. Now do a "patch test" to be certain the mask is suitable for your skin type. Place a small amount towards the side of your throat and leave for 20 minutes. If all systems are "go," apply the mask liberally to your face, neck, and throat (remember, you don't want a youthful mug and a sagging neck! So treat both areas equally). Let the mask sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off w/ warm water (always warm as your faces dislike extreme temperatures, so not hot or cold it messes w/ our blood vessels and capillaires!)

P.M.S.
